WELCOME - RULES OF THIS GROUP

Thu Jan 8, 2009, 2:58 AM
Welcome to the first stage of the Melbourne Goth Artists group, a group for Melbourne based artists to submit work and have themselves a little extra exposure in not only the Goth scene, but the Art scene in general.
****************

:skull:1- DO NOT :+fav: SUBMITTED WORK, VISIT THE LINK OF THE ORIGINAL ARTWORK TO :+fav:
First of all, this group is to promote YOU not US... Therefore please don't comment or :+fav: any of the submissions of this group, go to the original artist's profile (this is how everyone will discover new artists to watch, and be discovered by new artists)

:skull:2- JOINING UP!
To become a member, simply watch us, add our user icon in your journal (promoting us will help promote you in the end) and send us a note that you have done this and we will add you to our watch list and add your user icon to our journal. If you haven't notice us watch you, send us a reminder note and we'll get to it.

:skull:3- SUBMITTING ART TO US
Send us a note with a link to your submission of choice, and your profile and we will handle the rest. If you have a set, or a series, please ONLY SEND ONE artwork (as a single link along with your profile link above your note) if you wish to have a link to your other artworks in the series, supply the links to each one in the order you prefer with a few line breaks between the top and the rest (so it's easy for us to copy and paste) We shall add these links in underneither your submission.

Example
" the title you want it to have, exactly as you type it (it will just be copied and pasted)
[link] work you wish to submit
[link] profile name

"description or comment you want to add" (type it exactly the way you want it to be seen)

all key words you want added with spaces between each one for us to simply cut and paste for you

[link] work of this series 1
[link] work of this series 2
[link] work of this series 3"

**please note, it may take up to a week or so to have your artwork submitted, we don't do this as a job and may have to do other things. Artwork will usually be submitted Thursday afternoon, Friday, Saturday or Sunday**
**only submit one artwork submission a week- this rule may change over time, but for now we just don't have the time to su

:skull:4- QUALITY OF SUBMISSION
This is an issue often discussed and debated. We are NOT an art critique group, we are just providing an avenue for you to find other artists. If you don't like the work, ignore it.

:skull:5- ARTISTIC CRITIQUE
If you dislike an artist or their style, or you wish to give critique or feedback, give it to the artist directly. They can decide for them selfs if they want the opinions or not.
Any feedback to artists submission, negative feedback, or complaints will be ignored or deleted and are better directed to the artist themselve.

:skull:6- GENERAL CHATTER
This isn't really a chat room, or a forum. We won't be Nazis, but it's better to leave chit chat with other deviants to their profiles. We won't stress too much about this, but conversations are better left again, to private.

:skull:7- ABUSE/SPAM
Abuse or spam won't be tolerated, We will delete it. It's pretty obvious what is abuse and what isn't. If you know someone personally and have a relationship where you can "diss" each other playfully, keep it to your own personal profiles.

:skull:8- SUGGESTIONS, PROMOTIONS
We may advise against chatter and discussion and critique, but if you know of a deviant/artist who you feel should be publicly promoted for others to find out about, feel free to share. the same goes for techniques, tutorials you know of or things that will generally add to the artist community as a whole.

:skull:9- EVENT AND MEET UP PROMOTIONS.
We will be advertising our own meet ups here, but if you have any meet ups planned, or gallery openings of your own or a friends, send us a note and we'll add this information to this Journal.

**note, these rules are subject to change, and because we aren't employed we cant guarantee sudden attention**

Hello Melbourne goth artists... i propose a question to you...
"What is goth?"
:iconfuriousennui:
Sisters of Mercy on the iPod, whilst reading Byron, thinking about how dark your soul is and wearing black on the last train home from Flinders St Station. I'm surprised you had to ask. ;)

A keen sense of irony doesn't go astray, either.

Don't mind him :P He's being cheeky bugger.

I (beanarts) mentioned to him at school not to bother asking that question because there will never be a proper answer. I get asked it a lot at school and I just go "Don't bother asking :P it's too hard to explain or define"

I bet he's going to ask me this again next time I see him :P The cheeky bugger :P

Hey, introspectivity ;) join up with us :P
:iconmiserysmalice:
It's an age old question that can not be answered with a phd and weeks of research, even then the final answer will not please everyone.

It's sort of like the question: What came first the chicken or the egg?

I joined!

*yay*
